Photonics PPP as powerful opportunity

„The PPP is a powerful opportunity” stated Vice President Neelie Kroes at the Photonics21 Annual Meeting on the 28 March 2014 in Brussels. In her keynote speech Neelie Kroes congratulated the European photonics community for setting up the Photonics PPP in Horizon2020 and stated that major challenges are ahead of us. She pointed out that youth unemployment in Europe is risk to democracy. Photonics as key enabling technology has huge potential to contribute to the re-industrialization of Europe. Photonics21 President Michael Mertin presented the new Photonics Public Private Partnership and invited everybody to actively engage in the strategy and priority setting process of the PPP.
