Any person under 35 and active in the field of optics and photonics, may apply for the Photonics21 Student Innovation Award. The award consists of a certificate, a cash prize of € 5,000 as well as of a free registration to "Photonics Europe" which will be sponsored by SPIE.
Applicants must submit the following documents:
- The completed application form,
- One letter of support (by a supervisor or mentor),
- A short (2 page) biography/CV
- A list of peer reviewed publications
- A description of the innovative R&D work (not exceeding 4 sides of A4, 12 point text), making clear the
- Nature of innovation
- Potential impact to industry
The Photonics21 Student Innovation Award 2010 will be awarded next year alongside the "Photonics Europe" which will take place from the 12th to the 16th of April 2010 in Brussels, Belgium.
Deadline for providing applications to the Photonics21 secretariat via e-mail to education@photonics21.org was the 19 February 2010.
