The summerschool of P4L offers a new approach towards interdisciplinary learning in Biophotonics. To foster education and communication across disciplines one half of the lecturers and the attending students at the P4L Summerschool will have a medical and one half a technological background in Biophotonics. Topics are consequently lectured by speaker tandems to shed light on the matter from both angles. To increase the effect some of the tandems even work together on mutual biophotonics projects.

The school will be held in an old castle in Schkopau, in the center of Germany, and will have an interesting social program with bow shooting and 4-wheel-driving in a near by daylight mine.

The InnoPho21 workshop will be held in conjunction with the Fotonica 2012 conference. The workshop will provide the opportunity to inform abou the national technology platforms for photonics within Europe and their latest activities as well as to exchange best practice among the workshop participants.

Fotonica 2012 is the 14th Italian National Conference of Photonic Technologies. The Conference is the meeting place of the Italian Photonic Community where the most advanced achievements of research in photonics are presented and discussed. The event covers all aspects of photonics, with a particular emphasis on applications.

Fotonica 2012 will be structured as technical sessions that will include review-papers and original  contributions relevant to the general conference themes. There will  also be panels and symposia that will present what is currently the state of the art and consider the  future expectations of photonics, including the national and international initiatives under development.   

Fotonica 2012 is aimed at an audience of all professionals active in photonics, including researchers, manufacturers and users of the technology, as well as analysts and investors interested in this sector.

The 11th OPTATEC international trade fair for optical technologies, components and systems will present expert visitors with the world’s most important information, communication and business platform for the industry at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre from the 22nd through the 25th of May, 2012.
